Daryl Balfour

For over 25 years, Daryl Balfour has been among Africa’s prominent professional wildlife photographers. Back in the late eighties,  Daryl was guiding and managing a safari camp in the Okavango Delta, and that is when he developed his passion for photography and join the profession.

With his wife Sharna he has since published over a dozen photographic books and their work has been featured world renowned publications such as BBC Wildlife, GEO, National Geographic, Stern, Africa Geographic, International Wildlife, Animan (Switzerland) and many others.

Daryl has developed a strong reputation in the field of photography, and is now a recognized leader and guide of workshops and safaris in Africa and beyond. He is passionate about sharing not only his extensive photographic knowledge and skills but also his expertise in wildlife biology and conservation. Daryl & Sharna operate their own safari company Wildphotos Safaris focusing in guiding small groups of enthusiasts on set departure safaris, or designing special customized itineraries in Africa and the rest of the world.
