Peter Smart Wildlife Photography in association with
Safari Consultants Limited
PAST TOUR AT KAINGO:
2015: 2-10 July 2015 Closed
Peter Smart has been a keen and successful photographer all his life and turned professional in 2002 to pursue his passion for travelling and capturing images of the natural world, and sharing these experiences with others. Since then he has led nearly 100 tours (around half to Kenya alone) to more than a dozen different countries and enjoyed the company of hundreds of fellow photographers many of whom are kind enough to travel with him again and again.
Over the last ten years he has run over 500 photography workshops, led nearly 100 overseas tours and provided many individuals with one-to-one tuition. During this period he has worked with several travel companies based in the UK to provide his clients with financial security when travelling. He has also established lasting relationships with many local operators and naturalists around the World.
In addition to leading workshops, providing tuition and presenting lectures, he escort around ten wildlife photography tours each year to a variety of countries including Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Rwanda, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Madagascar, India, Sri Lanka, Borneo, Indonesia, Brazil, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands and the Arctic.
Peter treats it as a genuine privilege to introduce clients to the wildlife, landscapes and people of the countries he visits and he aims to use his knowledge, experience, and organisational skills (mixed with a little fun) to ensure that not only will his clients have excellent photographic and game-viewing opportunities but also a highly enjoyable holiday!
Peter’s tour is based at Kaingo in Zambia’s beautiful South Luangwa National Park offering superb opportunities to photograph lions, leopards, elephants and an amazing range of other animals and birds, by day and by night, from vehicles, from professional hides and on foot.
Game viewing drives by open four-wheel drive vehicles are complemented by professional hides established in strategic positions which have been used by many wildlife film companies over the years. These include the hippo hide overlooking a deep channel of the river with a new extension which has you eye level with the hippos and the elephant hide built on stilts above a well used river crossing point. Kaingo Camp aims to offer an in-depth wildlife experience and is well suited to catering for the requirements of keen photographers. The Park has a huge variety of wildlife to observe and photograph including two large lion prides, a good number of leopards, many elephants, hippopotamus, antelope, rarer species such as Hunting Dogs and Caracal, and a huge number of birds.
The safari is arranged by and will be booked through African specialists, Safari Consultants Limited, a fully bonded UK tour operator; your financial protection when travelling. Safari Consultants are able to book your international flights and can also arrange a customised extension upon request.
