Shem Compion

Shem Compion grew up roaming the outdoors and his interest in Nature led to him to obtain a National Diploma in Nature conservation and Wildlife Management.

Shem naturally became a wildlife photographer, and quickly established himself as one of the best   in South Africa. His images are frequently published in worldwide magazines, books and calendars. In 2010, he supplied all 72 images to the particularly popular Africa Geographic calendar.

His first book “A Landscape of Insects” was published in 2009 and Shem is currently working on a photo guide-book series. He enjoys speaking at photo events and leading photo workshops for organizations such as National Geographic.

In 2004, Shem and Andre Cloete – founded C4 Images and Safaris . With a wide-ranging travel background and academic qualifications the C4 Images and Safaris team designs each of their tours very carefully. C4 Images provide specialist photographic workshops and safaris for the wilderness and photography enthusiast offering specialized and personal service.
