A sighting from Patrick on July 9th, 2011
It was a wonderful sighting of buffalos drinking from a waterhole in a very good afternoon light, and there were about two hundred of them. It was so exciting and interesting to see two hundred buffalos converging on a small waterhole and drinking it dry, leaving the fish without water just swimming in mud. We had a lovely time with them because we decided to have our sundown drinks with the buffalos.
However, it got more exciting as we left the buffalos to find a toilet stop and we bumped into a single wild dog hunting, so we rushed to follow him though he was in a rush but the guests managed to take some photos of him and finally he gained momentum and he was on a supersonic speed and disappeared.
This was very exciting for me because we don’t see them very often here in South Luangwa National Park especiallyl in our area. This might be the first or last sighting of the season. So I was very happy to see this wild dog!
PS: we are waiting for our guest to send us his picture, so we can add it to the blog
