Just before sunset yesterday evening we were making our way around the main shelf area when we heard Guinea Fowl going ballistic down by the water. We decided to investigate and came across a young male leopard making his way down to drink.
After quenching his thirst he made his way to a large winter thorn tree where to our surprise he had not one but two kills stashed within it.
He made his way up the tree to feed on the older of the two meals. After feeding for a short while he then made his way back down the tree and settled in the long grass.
After a few minutes a hyena drawn by the smell of the carcass made his way near the tree to investigate but with a short snarl from the leopard it quickly trotted off leaving the cat in peace.
