Visa Costs

The rules are changing frequently but presently the rule is that tourists need a tourist visa.  For guidance the visa rate for single entry is US$ 50 and multiple entry US$80.  Most nationals can purchase their visa upon entry.  Some nationals do have to obtain a visa before arriving in Lusaka such as Greek, Turkish, Indian, Chinese.

Please ensure you have the correct money and amounts in $5 and $10 notes with big heads.

Please check the visa stamp in your passport when at the immigration desk.  Ensure that you have been given enough days.  There have been a couple of incidences where the days were short and the client was fined.  We recommend you ask for 30days in Zambia, which is the maximum for a tourist visa.

Flights: Getting to South Luangwa

International

London and Johannesburg are the most commonly used international hubs to Lusaka. Other routings come via Lilongwe, Nairobi and Harare.

South African Airways (SAA) runs daily flights from Johannesburg to Lusaka. British Airways (BA) flies London Heathrow to Lusaka direct several times a week, so does KLM via Amsterdam.

Domestic flights to Mfuwe (the domestic airport you fly to in order to visit us) are scheduled to line up with the BA arrivals (LUN-MFU morning flight) and the SA middle of the day arrivals (not their early and late flights) line up with LUN-MFU afternoon departure.

International flights direct to Mfuwe

Mfuwe Airport has customs and immigration facilities, therefore it is easy to link the Luangwa with charter flights from other African countries such as Malawi, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Botswana.

Meet and Greet Service in Lusaka

We can arrange for a member of Tours Africa Office, Lusaka to meet and greet you from your international flight and assist you through to your connecting flight.  The charge for the meet and greet service is $28 per person.

Meet and Greet Service in Mfuwe

You will be met at Mfuwe airport by one of our guides. The drive to camp takes approximately 2 hours 40 minutes – with most of which is game-viewing through some of the richest wildlife areas of the park.
